Love Chili? Try this Station House Version!

If there’s one thing the guys at my station love, it’s chili! When’s the last time you had a really good pot of deliciousness? Get your apron out and let’s get cookin’!


Now don’t get freaked out by the amount of ingredients. We’re making enough to feed a crowd. Maybe you’d like to split it up when you get it all good and cooked and freeze it to enjoy it all season long.


5 pounds ground beef

2 pounds ground italian sausage

2 medium sweet onions-chopped coarsely

2 large red onions-chopped coarsely

2 red peppers-chopped coarsely

4 sweet peppers-diced

2 14.5 oz cans petite diced tomatoes w/celery, onion & green pepper

2 cans 14.5 diced tomatoes-chili ready

2 cans 14.5 stewed tomatoes

2 15.5 cans of chili beans

2 15.5 oz cans of kidney beans

2 15.5 oz cans of mild chili beans

1 packet mild chili seasoning mix

1 packet original chili seasoning mix

2 32 oz cans tomato juice

2 cans tomato paste

2 cups of water


In a super large stock pot (32 quart or bigger) brown ground beef along with 1 medium sweet onion and one large red onion, coarsely chopped. While browning the ground beef, brown the sausage in a separate skillet until completely cooked.


Mix both types of meat together and combine.


Grab the seasoning packets and sprinkle those in. You can also make your own seasonings combo, especially if you like it more spicy. While were running calls, we like to keep it a little more simple.


Next, comes the beans and tomatoes! Does it get better than this?


Get those coarsely chopped veggies on it the pot. I’m hungry just looking at this photo right now.


Lastly, add the water and the tomato juice. Simmer for four hours. ENJOY!
